An authentic cultural river expedition to remote Dayak communities along the Mahakam River.
Day 1 : BALIKPAPAN – LOAJANAN – MAHAKAM RIVER (D)
On arrival at Sepinggan International Airport A.M. Sulaiman, meet our guide then transfer by private car to Loajanan. Upon arrive board on the House Boat then cruise up the Mahakam river to Muara Muntai. Dinner on the boat.
Day 2 : MUARA MUNTAI – MANCONG – TG. ISUY (BLD)
After breakfast sight seeing around the village to see the activity of local people. Then board on motorized canoe across the Jempang lake through Ohong river if the water level allow. Along the river you’ll see the famous long house called Proboscis monkey, long tail macaque, king fisher, egret, fresh water eagle. Arrive in the Dayak village see the Long House and see the handicraft who made by the local people. Afternoon continue to Tanjung Isuy the homeland of Dayak Benuaq, overnight at Long House.
Day 3 : TANJUNG ISUY – MUARA MUNTAI – MINTA – MUARA PAHU (BLD)
Morning, after breakfast return to Muara Muntai, on arrival board into the house boat and cruise up the Mahakam river to Minta Village to observe how the way of their life. Here you can see the local people how make and process the Palm Sugar. Then back to the boat and cruise further up to Muara Pahu to observe wild life Fresh Water Dolphin along the Mahakam river. Meals & overnight on the boat.
Day 4 : MUARA PAHU – TEBISAK VILLAGE – MELAK (BLD)
Morning after breakfast, board on the motorized canoe leave to Tebisak village visit the Dayak Village where the people still living in their traditional Long House. Upon arrival a welcome ceremony will held by chief of Dayak and following with traditional dance. Return to the boat and cruise up the Mahakam river to Melak. Meals & overnight on the boat.
Day 5 : MELAK – KERSIK LUWAI – EHENG – TERING (BLD)
Morning after breakfast, leave to Kersik Luwai by car to observe the nature of Black Orchid forest. Then continue drive to Papas Eheng village the homeland of Benuaq Dayak village, visit the Old Dayak Long house where the tribe still living together in their Long house. Here can see the activity of Dayak People how to make the rattan basket. Then return to the Melak and board cruise further up the Mahakam river to Tering. Overnight on the boat.
Day 6 : TERING – LONG BAGUN (BLD)
After breakfast, board on regular speed boat cruise further up to Long Bagun. Arrive in Long Bagun proceed to check in at Losmen for accommodation. Afternoon sight seeing around the village to see the local people activity. Meals provide. Stay overnight in Losmen.
Day 7 : LONG BAGUN – TIONG OHANG (BLD)
After breakfast, leave from Long Bagun by regular speed boat cruise up the Mahakam river by passing several rapids and you’ll see the beautiful scenery of Tropical rain forest and wild life along the river. Afternoon arrive at Tiong Ohang proceed to Losmen for stay and overnight.
Day 8 : TIONG OHANG – JUNGLE TREK (BLD)
Morning after breakfast, we’ll start jungle trek into the tropical rain forest who accompany by the local guide from the Dayak villager. After lunch we’ll be back to Tiong Ohang and afternoon walk around the village to see the activity of local people.
Day 9 : TIONG OHANG – LONG APARI (BLD)
Morning after breakfast, board on the motorized canoe cruise further up the Mahakam river to Long Apari. You’ll see the beautiful scenery of tropical rain forest along the river. On arrival at the village sight seeing around the village to see their daily activity. Stay and overnight at Dayak house. Meals provide.
Day 10 : LONG APARI – TIONG OHANG – LONG PAHANGAI (BLD)
Breakfast at the local house, then cruise down the river to Tiong Ohang. On arrival at Tiong Ohang will continue down the river to Long Pahangai, stay and overnight at Local house or Losmen.
Day 11 : LONG PAHANGAI – LONG BAGUN
After breakfast taking the regular boat and down the river to Long Bagun.On arrival proceed to check in at Losmen for accommodation.
Day 12 : LONG BAGUN – DOWN THE MAHAKAM RIVER (BLD)
Leave from Long Bagun by public boat cruise down the river to Samarinda. It will take one day and one night. Meals and overnight on the boat.
Day 13 : SAMARINDA – BALIKPAPAN – HOTEL (BLD)
Arrive in Loajanan, transfer by car drive to Balikpapan. Upon arrive will proceed to your hotel for accommodation.
Day 14 : HOTEL – AIRPORT – DEPARTURE (B)
Morning after breakfast, transfer to airport and get your return flight to next destination
